About Guerrilla Explorer

Greetings and welcome to Guerrilla Explorer.

“If you have men who will only come if they know there is a good road, I don’t want them.  I want men who will come if there is no road at all.” – David Livingstone

We are the adventurers, the explorers, the treasure hunters.  We are the ones who cross uncrossable boundaries, who search for strange monsters, who seek answers to history’s mysteries.

Guerrilla Explorer

Guerrilla Explorer is a publishing company based in the United States. We launched on June 29, 2011. Currently, we have two business segments: Guerrilla Explorer (Dot) Com and Guerrilla Explorer Publishing. Guerrilla Explorer is owned by David Meyer, an adventurer and treasure hunter as well as the author of adventure/thriller novels.

Guerrilla Explorer (Dot) Com

Our web site, GuerrillaExplorer.com, is an online magazine dedicated to Mysteries of History, Lost Treasure, Cryptozoology, Strange Science, and Forgotten Lands. Its purpose is to present a range of interesting stories from the past and present that are largely ignored by the mainstream media.

We invite you to become an active member of our community. Feel free to comment on our stories, send us tips (we will honor requests for anonymity), or even submit your own stories.

Guerrilla Explorer Publishing

We published our first novel, Chaos by David Meyer, on October 17, 2011. During its first year, we have it on good authority that Chaos has ranked in the top 2% of all novels sold, including both self-published and traditionally-published books. We’re quite proud of that success. Hopefully, future books will do even better. If you haven’t picked up your own copy of Chaos yet, we encourage you to do so and tell us what you think.

A sequel (not a direct sequel though) to Chaos is underway. It’s the first of a three-part miniseries, starring archaeologist-turned-treasure hunter Cy Reed. It’s similar to a serial novel, but each installment will be long (300 to 400 pages) and self-contained (i.e. they will have their own beginnings and endings). In the future, we plan to publish a series of non-fiction books based on the content available on this site.

Guerrilla Explorer’s Manifesto

We do our best to maintain an open mind but we’re also highly skeptical of dubious, unverified claims. Many people, especially true believers, find skepticism frustrating. However, we think it’s extremely important. Skepticism isn’t about rejecting other people’s beliefs. It’s about suspending judgement until claims can be properly tested and verified. Just because we’re skeptical of certain things doesn’t mean we reject them out of hand. Indeed, we believe keeping an open mind is important.

“But while I’m extremely skeptical of Bigfoot, I certainly don’t reject the possibility of its existence. One of the things that frustrates me about modern science is the built-in disdain many researchers hold for fields like cryptozoology. Regardless of our opinions, we must continue to evaluate any and all scientific claims with an open mind…even if its about the legendary Sasquatch. After all, that’s what science is all about.” ~ David Meyer, Bigfoot Lives…!

Now put on your boots, grab your machete, and strap on your holster.  Adventure awaits us!
